Everyone has secrets and sometimes these secrets are what hold a marriage together and sometimes they tear them apart. In this action packed film you get inside a marriage with a lot of secrets; this husband and wife (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) are living a quiet suburban life, after a few years the marriage has got into a rut and they are seeking counseling to help them work through the rough spots.

Their problem is their work life; both John and Jane Smith are hired assassins who travel the world killing men for money. They originally met on a mission and first fell in love while escaping from Colombia but they never got around to telling each other what it was they did for a living. This situation is complicated when they are both hired to liquidate the same target.

They run into each other in the field while working and unsure what the other’s motivation is the couple turns on each other in a high-octane shoot-out in their house. Using all their training and knowledge of close combat they turn their suburban home into a war zone. If you love shoot-em-up action sequences this film has something for you. The final scenes with a car chase and an overwhelming enemy bearing down on the couple is brilliantly filmed.

The action is fast-paced and the movie never lags from start to finish. The audience buckles in for a roller-coaster ride that doesn’t let up. The chemistry between the two stars is fun to watch (this is the movie where they first met and fell in love) and they have an onscreen presence that is totally engaging. The supporting players, including Adam Brody and Vince Vaughn, are superb and help to give a welcome break from non-stop action.
